Selected speakers will have the opportunity to highlight healthcare policy issues, challenges, and solutions to hundreds of urologists, patients, and AUA leaders. We are seeking applications for speakers with expertise on topics aligning with AUA's federal, state, and patient advocacy priorities, which may include the following emergent topics of interest:
- Clinical Trial Access Barriers
- Drug Shortages, Disaster Relief Efforts and Long-term Policy Solutions
- Drug Supply Distribution Chain
- FDA Black Box Warning on Low-Dose Estrogen
- How AI is Used in Clinical Settings, By Payers and Beyond
- Medicare Coverage Processes: MACs/LCDs & CMS/NCDs
- Medicare Physician Payment Reform
- Pharmacy Benefit Managers
- Physician Unionization, Collective Bargaining and Related Considerations
- Supreme Court Decision Overturning Chevron Deference and Its Impact on Health Policy
- United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) Reform
- Workforce: Scope of Practice, APP Training in Specialties, and Burnout
Applicants will be required to briefly summarize their presentation proposal and explain how the topic connects to advocacy as part of their application. If you are interested in presenting on multiple topics, please submit a new application for each topic. Speakers will only be selected to speak on one topic.
Application Requirements and Selection:
Please submit your application online by Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Applicants will be notified of their application status by Friday, January 10, 2025. Priority will be given to AUA domestic members, patient advocacy affiliates, and applicants with prior advocacy experience (as indicated in their application).
Additional application evaluation criteria include:
- Relevance of the proposal to the selected topic area and AUA's advocacy platform.
- Demonstrated understanding of the proposal’s connection to advocacy and its impact on urologists and their patients.
- Completeness of the application and where proposal fits within the broader Summit program.
